Caved Red Lacquer Vase
with Floral Motif
Yung-lo period (A.D. 1403-
1424)
Ming Dynasty
Thickness: 16.4cm
Diameter: 9.2cm
This vase has a straight
mouth, a long neck, a
protruding belly and a
slightly recessed base.
The sides of the mouth rim
are carved with a row of
key-fret work. The neck
and the belly are carved
with flowers of the four
seasons. The vase's under-
side bears a six-character
Yung-lo reign mark inscribed
with a needle.
